About Bollyfit Active

Bollyfit Active is a unique fitness movement with a simple aim: 'To create a community of empowered women who want to take control of their Health, Wellness, and Fitness. Bollyfit Active offers a strictly women-only environment, incorporating cultural music and dance to tackle obesity, isolation, and depression and improve the health and well-being of South Asian and BAME women in the local community.

Our women's only fitness community offers fun and interactive fitness sessions, allowing participants to achieve a happier, healthier, and more active lifestyle. We understand the importance of mental well-being as well as physical health, and our classes emphasise wellness and inner growth.

Community

At Bollyfit, we make it a priority to acknowledge and celebrate each participant's unique cultural background. We strongly encourage all members to connect with music that holds cultural significance to them, as this helps them relate to and appreciate the music on a deeper level than what is typically experienced in a regular Zumba class. Our environment is warm, friendly and lively, making it a safe space for women of all abilities to express themselves through dance, culture and music. Throughout the sessions, we invite attendees to showcase their individuality and take the lead in the Confidence Builder Circle of Dance, which helps build confidence and leadership skills.

Our community comprises women from all over the world who share a common objective: fitness, friendship, and freedom. We honour and celebrate each participant's cultural heritage, urging them to connect with music that holds personal significance to them. This connection enables our members to experience a deeper level of engagement with the music than in a regular workout class.

I joined Bolly Fit 4 weeks ago for the weight loss challenge...... I had already started daily walks and felt like I was ready for something more. I was lonely in my journey to lose weight, and the doctor told me to watch my diet and try to lose weight to lower my BP, which was quite high. I started feeling happier, eating healthy and planning my meals and making the right choices and attending the sessions made me feel confident in myself and it felt so good meeting the other ladies and listening to their challenges and struggles.

I felt shy at first but then I started to enjoy the workout and feel good. I felt part of a really good team, I felt happy and motivated and loved posting in the WhatsApp group. Bollyfit has changed me in so many ways not only is my physical health has improved but my mental health is at the level it's not been for many many years. I am no longer attracted to junk food and I know what needs to be on my plate! BollyFit has bought out a new me and I'm loving it and my family has also seen the difference!
